The "capes" had declared the city their own and were fighting military and police forces. The recording stopped short of him telling Tim who the culprit was, only that it was someone in the (Bat) family. Robin watched Alfred get killed in the recording. After shaking the visions off, he met with Batman and captured the man who delivered the package to his home. As future Alfred had said, the man - Yak Black - remembered nothing of the past few days. Robin didn't tell Batman about the message and began hypothesizing about its origin.

He was working for Jaeger on "monster snuff" films. When Tim got home, he had an email from Batman. He sent him audio recorded with special equipment from Yak's brain.
