Alfred, though worried about Dick's safety and happiness, realized hew as a positive influence on Bruce. Dick noted a girl at school seemed to be eyeing him. Jervis Tetch (aka Mad Hatter) showed off his new stock: eight little girls. He needed two more for his delivery; Dick's admirer was number nine. Hatter showed off his inventory again, this time to the buyer - the President of Rheelasia.
After an obligatory meet and greet at an international party, Bruce and Dick snuck off to answer Gordon's signal. He told them about a case that's hitting close to home - eight girls from nice families were missing. The next day after school, Dick saw a strange looking little man giving away free headphones. One of the girls got into his van. He gave chase on foot, but soon lost them. Dick called Alfred, who came and brought his costume. They were able to find the signal being broadcast to hypnotize the girls.
Robin entered the Mad Hatter's warehouse, but it was empty save for some muscle. From one of the henchmen, Robin got the location. Tetch had moved them on to the yacht of the Rheelasian President. Bruce was aboard. The Coast Guard was notified and Robin found the girls. By knocking off Tetch's hat, he broke the hypnotism. Robin single-handedly broke the situation. Bruce later told him he'd done a good job.

Storyline: Batman and Robin took down Killer Moth, who'd been running a protection racket for criminals. Robin told Alfred he was so lame that even a girl could have taken him down. Batman was pleasantly surprised when Robin took down a huge man named Desmond who called himself "Blockbuster."
Dick cut a date short when he saw the signal. Alfred picked him up and he joined Batman, who was already talking to Gordon. Two-Face was the lead suspect in the abduction of a judge. Batman asked Robin to sit this one out.
Two-Face had Judge Lawrence Watkins on trial for the murder of Harvey Dent. He blamed him for letting Maroni throw the acid on his face. After the "trial" and Watkins' "conviction," Dent showed him Maroni's dead body was serving as judge on the case. Batman went after Dent, who he suspected was going to kidnap a set of high-profile newborn twins. It was a setup. Both he and Robin were captured. Two-Face had Robin play a game with him - a double gallows was set up. Batman and Judge Watkins would be the victims. Watkins was spared the noose, but dropped into a water tank. Batman's hood was removed so he could watch Two-Face beat Robin. Batman got loose before Harvey hit the boy with a killing blow. He scooped up his partner and rushed him back to the cave.
