Nightwing: A Knight in Bludhaven

Storyline: Batman sent Nightwing to Bludhaven to find out why 21 members of the Angel Marin Gang got their necks broken. His first night there, he saw the False Facers attacking Freddy Minh's house (who was his first suspect). He caught up to the False Facers and was knocked into the river handcuffed to a refrigerator. He escaped. The police were not happy to have their own vigilante; Nightwing was cuffed and taken into custody when he tried to return Minh's stolen property.

Storyline: Detective Dudley Soames was to dispose of Nightwing, but instead let him loose and tipped him off on something to check out. Soames delivered the stolen goods to Minh, while Nightwing caught up with the False Facers again at a train station.

Storyline: Dick began moving into his new apartment, then met up with Soames. He sent Nightwing to a check cashing place in the ghetto; it was held up while he was there. Dick once again stopped a False Facer's heist. Afterwards, he contacted the Batcave on his progress. Batman offered his assistance, but Nightwing assured him that he could take care of it.

Storyline: Lady Vic, an assassin hired by Angel Marin, came to Bludhaven to collect. Dick got a job as a bartender at a cop bar called Hogan's Alley. Three False Facers with backwards heads - on orders by Soames. Nightwing and Lady Vic both went after Marin's lawyer.

Subtitle: Lady's Night

Storyline: There was a shootout on the lawyer's boat. Nightwing was able to get him and his daughter to safety, but Lady Vic escaped. Police Chief Redhorn got on Soames because he still hadn't delivered Nightwing. Soames paid Lady Vic what Marin owed her plus a retainer for his own boss. Bruce Wayne met Lady Elaine Marsh-Morton at a party.

Storyline: Dick came home from work to find Robin in his apartment. The two Boys Wonder went out roof hopping together. After talking to Maxwell Reed, Marin's lawyer, the boys did a stake out at a gambling den. Soames heard of it and killed Reed. With the place tipped off that they were there, Nightwing and Robin barely escaped.

Storyline: As Nightwing shook down various no-gooders, Angel Marin's body turned up, with it's head on backwards. Oracle gave Nightwing a name - Roland Desmond aka Blockbuster. He called some Titans buddies for info on him, and then tracked him down; Soames was at Blockbuster's side.

Subtitle: The Bigger They Are

Storyline: Nightwing got a few hits in on Blockbuster, but he was eventually defeated. Soames convinced Desmond that killing him would only bring Batman (not a good idea). Nightwing woke up in the middle of a biker gang. He escaped; Blockbuster took them out single-handedly due to their inability to kill him.
