Storyline: Hal Jordan received his sentence for drunk driving - 90 days in a maximum security federal prison. Carol wished him well. While being transported to prison, he overheard a radio call about a bank robbery in progress. Green Lantern escaped and took care of it. A hologram of Hal Jordan was left in the truck. The Guardians weighed the consequences of Legion's attack - 7 Lanterns were dead, one was gained, and Oa had been restored. They decided Sinestro would be the best to train Jordan since Kilowog was out recruiting. He was called to Oa, given his assignment, and sent to Earth. Jordan was suspected of murder when his cellmate ended up with a knife in his back. He met with his case worker, Guy Gardner.

Subtitle: 90 Days part 3: Power Play
Writer(s): Keith Giffen, Gerard Jones
Artists(s): MD Bright, Romeo Tanghal
Storyline: Jordan played it straight with his cellmate, "Gentleman" Will. When he accidentally dumped part of his meal on another inmate, Hal had to break up a fight. Guy Gardner witnessed it. Sinestro continued to come for him at night and show him the GL ropes. While he was out, Willie overheard some of the inmates (who'd been put in jail by Jordan) talking about taking his ring. They saw him and cut him. Sinestro took Jordan to his homeworld of Korugar after he'd not received an acknowledgment from them in three days. Jordan was astonished to see flags with his face and the GL emblem everywhere. The citizens began a revolt against Sinestro's tyranny.

Writer(s): Keith Giffen, Gerard Jones
Artists(s): MD Bright, Romeo Tanghal
Storyline: Sinestro was hurt that his people were revolting against him - he assumed they must be under some mind-control. Jordan was appalled that he made them live to worship him. Sinestro flipped out and Jordan tried to restrain him. They fought. Sinestro regained control. He convinced Jordan that the Guardians would misinterpret things - his people would say that he forced them to put up banners and worship him. The mind control would be blamed on him. Other GLs arrived on Korugar and were attacked. The Guardians sent their Fists after the two "errant" GLs.

Storyline: A jailbreak was planned, but no one could find Hal to steal his ring. Gardner spoke with Willie about him - he'd been gone two days. He and Sinestro returned to find the break out in full swing. Sinestro took the guise of Willie. With Gardner as their hostage, the would-be-escapees rampaged. Hal gave up his ring to the leader so that Gardner would be released; Sinestro got it back for him. Hal had to stop Gardner from killing his former assailants. The Guardians' Fists arrived to arrest Jordan and Sinestro.

He spoke and was questioned. They called a resident of Korugar to the stand. Sinestro was found guilty and was banished to the antimatter universe of Qward. Katma, the leader of the revolt and witness to Sinestro's ways, was awarded his ring and guardianship of his sector. Hal Jordan woke up in his cell and was soon released.
