Storyline: Firestorm got Una and Val to Bludhaven. He blasted through rock to discover an underground bunker. The Atomic Knights attempted to stop them, but were no match. Below, they found Desaad torturing Professor Stein. With all the parts present, Desaad joined the Firestorm matrix.
Deadshot tracked Piper and Trickster.
Jimmy Olsen was captured and to be take to Darkseid. Eclipso brought Mary Marvel to Apokolips' ruler.

One of the Atomic Knights was able to remove Desaad from the Firestorm matrix. He hopped a boom tube back to Apokolips. Darkseid and Mary Marvel fought, she escaped when Desaad arrived.

Storyline: At the Source Wall, Superman Prime tortured Mxyztplk and Annataz Arataz (Zatanna from Earth-3). Mxyzptlk escaped, but Annataz was destroyed by one of Prime's tantrums.
Eclipso and Mary Marvel were on an asteroid that was destroyed by Monarch's army. They also took out a Dominion fleet.

Storyline: Eclipso saved herself and Mary from the explosion. She tried to talk the girl down, but Mary snatched her gem and used it against Eclipso.
Mr. Miracle rescued Jimmy Olsen from Apokolips' slave pits.
Mxyzptlk returned to the 5th Dimension and ordered his girl to seal it off.
Deadshot found and attacked Trickster and Piper. Trickster had his face smashed and was shot through the chest and head.

Storyline: After the wrist bindings noted not vital signs coming from Trickster, it initiated a self-destruct countdown.
Granny Goodness (who had been posing as Athena) spoke with Desaad. On Paradise Island, Holly and Harley snuck off and explored a cave.
On Earth-8, the searchers encountered another Monitor. This one offered theirs (Bob) a chance to return to his brothers. They fought briefly before the searchers disappeared into the Bleed.
Karate Kid and Una continued on as OMACs activated.

Piper (and Trickster's body) jumped train near the US / Mexico border.
Eclipso left Mary in deep space after regaining her gem.

Storyline: Piper found water and a burrow. He put Trickster on the beast and walked more. Eventually, he prepared to cut his dead friend's hand off to ease his own burden.
Holly and Harley found Hippolyta in the cave. She told them what was going on. They headed back to be her eyes from within.
Jimmy got through to Forager. They went up against Bernadeth. Jimmy created a boom tube back to Earth. As they left, the god killer took Bernadeth.

Countdown to Final Crisis #18

Storyline: Earth-51. Ray Palmer awakened from a nightmare - one where his wife had killed her best friend and was placed in Arkham Asylum. It wasn't a nightmare, it was reality. Palmer (the one being searched for) had found a "perfect" Earth - one where his Justice League had retired after five years of activity. There was no more super crime.
The searchers found him and he admitted everything to his wife and friends: when he found this Earth, the first thing he saw was his own self (e-51's) die. He took over his work and life. He met Jean, they married. The JLA formed and retired. Bob, the Monitor, attacked Ray.
Eclipso and Mary fought in space.

Bob the Monitor killed Barry Allen and Jean. The searchers escaped with Palmer as the other Monitors appeared. Bob was killed by Solomon, the Monitor who'd rallied the rest against him. The others realized he'd orchestrated the entire crisis. Monarch's army appeared and their war began.

Superman Prime approached Monitor Solomon, who was back in the nexus.
Forager told Jimmy he was the New Gods' "soul catcher."

Storyline: Hippolyta clued Mary in on what was happening on Paradise Island.
The war on Earth-51 continued. It's Batman told Jason about his history - after he'd been killed on 51, Batman had begun killing the bad guys. Ray told Kyle about a sentient virus that had attacked 51. The Palmer from this Earth was immune to all sickness. Ray tried to carry on his work by leaving his DNA with selected individuals on each other Earth, but by doing so, he'd marked them physically. This is how Bob had tracked him.

Countdown to Final Crisis #14

Storyline: Solomon showed Superman Prime the "perfect" Earth. Enraged that it was being destroyed, Prime bolted.
Donna attacked and killed Belthera, unwittingly becoming her minions' new queen.
Batman gave Jason a costume he'd designed for his own Jason before he died. Red Robin emerged as Batman of Earth 51's new partner. They joined the war as Donna led her troops to battle.
Superman Prime attacked Monarch.

Countdown to Final Crisis #13

Subtitle: Abandon all Hope

Storyline: Monarch breached his suit in battle with Superman Prime. It was as though a nuclear warhead had been detonated on Earth-51. After the blast, Donna saw a message on a wall reading "To Apokolips."
Darkseid met with Solomon.
The battle on Earth-51 continued, Batman was killed by Ultraman. Red Robin killed a Joker. Monitor 51 transported the searchers and Ray Palmer to Apokolips before Monarch blew up again. This blast destroyed the planet.
