Storyline: Upon arrival on the Island of Santa Prisca, Bruce Wayne and Alfred were attacked by some locals. Bronze Tiger saved them and they met with Gypsy at their hotel. Wayne sent them to a location he was tracking. Inside the hacienda, Gypsy located Dr. Kinsolving and Jack Drake. Wayne's hotel was bombed.

Storyline: Gypsy and Bronze Tiger returned to where the hotel was and believed there was no way Wayne or Alfred could have survived (though they weren't inside when the explosions hit). They went back to the hacienda to rescue Drake and Kinsolving and were joined by Green Arrow. Despite the efforts of the Justice League Task Force, Drake and Kinsolving were helicoptered away.

Storyline: In England, as Batman, Bruce enlisted the services of a local vigilante named Hood. Dr. Kinsolving's kidnapper, Benedict Asp, began testing her healing powers. He was able to amplify and reverse the healing, causing death. Hood delivered the info on Asp. Wayne continued therapy.

Storyline: As Sir Hemingford Grey, Bruce Wayne got closer to Asp and Kinsolving. With his financial backer on hand, Asp attempted to kill an entire community. Grey (Wayne) saw Kinsolving, but she did not recognize him in disguise.

Storyline: Sir Hemingford Gray (Bruce Wayne) was escorted from the premises when he insisted on taking Shondra Kinsolving. Benjamin Asp's people checked the scene of their mass mind-kill. Asp left with Kinsolving, Wayne believed she was his willing participant. Alfred and Bruce got Jack Drake medical attention.

Storyline: Bruce Wayne saw a doctor and was told to have immediate surgery. Benedict Asp sent men to get Sir Hemingford Gray. Tim got word to Bruce about Shondra Kinsolving's past. Bruce and Alfred went to interview her adoptive mother. From her they learned much about the doctor's past - she and her adopted brother were abused by their adoptive father. They found out about her healing powers, and how her brother could amplify them. She and her brother ended up killing their father this way.

Storyline: While she was telling Bruce and Alfred about this, the mother died (Asp struck her from afar). Bruce and Alfred learned Asp was the adoptive brother. Asp tried to kill Sir Hemingford Gray, but the attempt failed due to him not existing. A death threat was posed to the President and four other top officials. When Bruce again refused to follow a doctor's directions, Alfred resigned. He asked Batman (Jean Paul Valley) to look over Bruce. Sir Hemingford Gray made a public spectacle to let Asp know he was still alive. Batman tried to save him, but Sir Hemingford Gray allowed himself to be captured.

Storyline: Bruce was taken to Santa Prisca, where the first tropical storm of the season was building up. Asp and a drugged Kinsolving attempted to kill Sir Gray again but failed. The exertion caused Shondra to regress into a permanent mental childhood. She went to save Bruce, and her powers kept Asp away. As the hurricane hit, Bruce and Shondra huddled together throughout the night. By morning, Wayne was completely healed of his injuries. Back in Gotham City, Wayne got Kinsolving the best full-time care available.
