Storyline: A ransom was set for Shondra Kinsolving. Azrael followed up, flattened the kidnappers and got her to safety.

Storyline: Carleton LeHah was awakened from surgery - it had been six months since the explosion in the oil refinery. Jean Paul and company moved into Kinsolving's former home (Wayne moved her and her attendants to Europe). Nightwing came in and trained with Azrael. LeHah once again became the embodiment of the Demon Biis. Azrael and Brian were attacked; Azrael was incapacitated and captured.

Subtitle: Demon Time part 2: Revenge

Storyline: Azrael awakened and made short work of his captors. LeHah/Biis sent out an assassin robot for him, but it was also defeated. Azrael then defeated Biis.

Storyline: (continued from Catwoman 31)
Tracker caught up with Azrael and Catwoman. They formed a truce. Azrael, on a lead from the first survivor's journal, led them to a yacht housing a gang member who also survived the Greenland outbreak. They found him, but he tried to show them he was immortal by stabbing himself in the chest. He wasn't immortal.

Storyline: (continued from Catwoman 32)
Gotham doctors realized there'd be no cure. Azrael saw a magnification of the virus and realized he'd seen it before. Lilhy began searching through the texts Brian had taken from the Order of St. Dumas. She was able to translate what they believed to be the antidote. Azrael grabbed it up and headed to Gotham City. He delivered it to a hospital and it had a 100% success rate.

Storyline: Jean Paul and Lilhy were attacked the the two men who'd previously kidnapped Shondra Kinsolving. Jean Paul took them down and got Lilhy to a hospital - she'd received a flesh wound from a gunshot. Brian sent Jean Paul to the tropics to see Dr. Orchid, a former associate.

Subtitle: Angel in Flames part two: The Enemy Around Us

Storyline: Dr. Orchid's brother, a cult leader, plotted to destroy his twin. Azrael single-handedly fought the cult away when it attacked. Orchid planned to use Azrael for his own benefit.

Subtitle: Angel in Flames part three: Save the Innocents

Storyline: A volcano on the island began to erupt - everyone was ordered to leave or get to the coast. Azrael, under hypnotic control, fought his doctor's brother. After defeating him, he began getting people to safety. Orchid, his brother, and Azrael were not among the people who made it off the island before it was destroyed.

Subtitle: Angel in Flames conclusion: A Prayer of Fire

Storyline: Jean Paul battled with his Azrael side, almost getting the brothers to safety. It appeared they were consumed by the lava. Jean Paul pleaded that Azrael leave him for good.

Storyline: Jean Paul returned home, leaving his costume behind. Brian believed he might be "cured" of Azrael. Nomoz, who'd been watching them for some time, reported back to The Order of St. Dumas and Brother Rollo. Rollo sent out assassins for Azrael and Lilhy. Jean Paul enrolled in college and moved back into his old apartment. While moving in, he asked Lilhy on a date. The assassins struck.

Subtitle: Angel in Hiding part two

Storyline: Nomoz saved Jean Paul, but Lilhy and Brian were taken. Nomoz helped save Jean Paul's friends after he agreed to take down Brother Rollo. Jean Paul asked Batman for help, which he was denied. Batman instead gave him money, transportation, a new costume. Even after putting on the costume, Jean Paul was not Azrael.

Subtitle: Angel in Hiding part three

Storyline: Bruce dropped the quartet (Jean Paul, Lilhy, Brian, and Nomoz) off in the African desert. Inside the strong hold where Jean Paul first learned of his heritage, Nomoz began to hypnotize him. The Order of St. Dumas attacked; Azrael finally emerged.

Subtitle: Angel at War part one: The Fall of St. Dumas

Storyline: Azrael defeated the attackers and sent them back to Rollo with the message to meet them in Rome. Hoping Rollo would send his troops there, they entered the castle and were attacked by dwarflings.
