Storyline: Michael's new case worker believes he is fit to return to duty with the GCPD, but she turned out to be working for his employers. Charges against his sister-in-law, Jenny, were not pressed.
Azrael took down a pair of masked kidnappers and saved the boy they'd taken.

Storyline: Azrael is sent to Paris to track down the deadly sins, still intending to bring forth the eighth in his body. The eighth being Faith.

Storyline: Azrael willingly allowed himself to embody the sin of Faith. The White Ghost burst in and attempted to stop the ceremony, but he was overpowered. He awakened on a plane with a member of the Order of Purity. Azrael had been sent to kill the Pope. The White Ghost stopped him and helped him track and kill other embodied sins until they found his rightful helmet.

Subtitle: The Killer of Saints

Storyline: Azrael watched as a mobster gunned down three associates, then swooped down to end their killer.
The Order told him of two recent murders - the victims knew an Order secret and were killed in the same means as saints. They were too late getting to the third, and the Crusader attacked Azrael with holy water.

Subtitle: The Killer of Saints part two: The Poison Tongue

Storyline: The Crusader spared Azrael and Father Day. Day came clean - the Crusader was after the Shroud of Turin - the original - which had been secreted away by the Order of Purity. It could prove Christ was alive when taken from the cross, therefor no resurrection. They headed to the final battle.


Issue #12

Subtitle: The Killer of Saints part three: Heart of Fire, Heart of Ice
Writer(s): David Hine

Storyline: Azrael was introduced to Father Grieve, the keeper of the Shroud and a copy of the Book of True Revelation. Grieve told Azrael the Order of Purity believed in two gods, one for each of his swords. The Crusader arrived and they did battle as the Book prophesied - until the book was complete. Once it ended, the future was up to them.

Subtitle: The Killer of Saints part four: The Soul Stripped Bare

Storyline: Father Grieve was flayed. Azrael allowed the Crusader to be tested - he failed. Azrael was the true warrior of God. The Crusader fled. Grieve told Michael that he was a descendant of Christ.
