Storyline: Azrael tracked a killer who was doing the same thing he was. When he confronted the man in plain clothes, he let him go.
Officer Farelli was interviewd in the future (six months, six days from when this story takes place) about Michael Lane being Azrael and his suicide.

Storyline: Huntress trailed the White Ghost, but lost him. Oracle continued to monitor Talia's apartment.
Azrael was given a challenge by him - two kidnap victims were strung up from skyscrapers in Gotham City. He was to save one. While his people were gathering intel, Azrael instead fought the White Ghost. He then gave his foe a test - he should also not allow an innocent to die. White Ghost saved one; Azrael the other. Azrael sent him on his way informing him to tell his boss they'd both failed his first test.

Storyline: Azrael had to take down one of his old Army buddies who'd become a serial killer stemming from a mission they'd taken into Iran.

Storyline: Batman and Robin stopped a sacrifice by the Crime Cult and recovered a stash of weapons. One was used to kill Michael Lane's wife and brother. Azrael confronted his sister-in-law, who stabbed herself with his swords and revealed the truth - she'd killed them, but was being controlled by the cult.

Storyline: Azrael found himself taking on some elite Palestinians who were attempting to nab a suspect in a bombing. He later encountered Ragman - the suspect was the bomber's brother and knew nothing of his whereabouts.
